Specifically, it is an awful decision to eschew any and all law journals. Clubs and societies are perhaps more time than they are worth, but journal has a much better yield on one's investment. Finally, during summer of second year it is advisable to work in a firm, even if one does intend to pursue work in government or some NPO. The only individuals I know not working at firms during their second summer are certainly not doing so by choice. This is a nice justification for continued lack of success, but remains quite transparent to those with any experience at being a law student.
