Join Me and Scott Young for a Live Conversation this Weekend

October 14th, 2015 · 27 comments

I’m trying something new this weekend: a live webinar, co-hosted with my friend and collaborator Scott Young.

During the first half of the event, we’ll be discussing ideas inspired by SO GOOD, including our personal experience with career capital, deliberate practice, and elite level productivity.

During the second half, we’ll explain more about this mysterious Top Performer online course that I’ve been hinting about recently. (I’ve spent the last three years developing this course with Scott for his online course company, so I’m excited to finally go public about the details.)

Key Details: The webinar will be held at 4 p.m. Eastern on Sunday. It is free and open to anyone. To sign up, just click on this link.

This should be interesting. Hope to see a lot of you there…

    Looking forward to it!

  2. Tom Cole says:

This sounds great, I’ve been following both of you a bit for a while.

Is there any chance that this webinar will be recorded in case we can’t make that time? Also, how long will it be?

    Cheers

    1. Jeewoong Chang says:

Yes, please. For people who are waiting on the other side of the world.

  3. Tom Cole says:

Can’t seem to edit my comment….

It also says 4pm in your post, but 3pm on the sign-up page (although both come out at 9pm for me for some reason – London.).

    Which one is correct?

    1. Maro says:

It’s 4 pm ET or 3 pm CT.

  4. Maro says:

Would it be possible to move it earlier a couple of hours? It ends up being after midnight in my time zone. Or at leat record it like Tom Cole suggests?

  5. Silvia says:

    Hurray!!!

  6. Sajid Hussain says:

I’m eager to attend the webinar but as I’m from India and the timezone for my place is +5.30, I have to be online at 1.30 AM. If I can’t attend, I just want the recorded video file of the event. Will that be available please?

    1. Eric says:

+1 vote for a recorded version so we can watch later!

      1. Ravin Kumar says:

I also will be in a timezone that I can’t attend. Hoping it will be recorded or held again!

  7. Jr says:

I’d also be grateful for a recording as the course sounds very interesting.

  8. MH says:

Tom Cole – The seminar is at 4pm eastern, but the invite is from central for some reason. So all three times are correct, if you pay attention to the timezone.

  9. Study Hacks says:

    To answer some questions…

The time is 4 pm Eastern. The registration page lists the time as 3 pm Central because Scott is currently in the central time zone. (You can change the time zone to your own when you register.)

I don’t think we can shift the time, also I don’t think it’s going to be recorded. (Sorry Asia!) But if people seem to like this live conversation format, I’ll try it again and at various times…

    1. Santosh says:

Please schedule for India time once… Thanks.
This particular webinar is at 0130 am Monday India time. That is very difficult to attend.

    2. Rocco says:

Please let me know when this will be posted again. I missed it.

  10. Jay says:

    Hi all,

Speaking as someone who participated in a pilot version of this course, let me say this.

If you’re in another timezone or whatever, just stay up late and attend the presentation.

This course was one of the best investments I’ve ever made in my career growth. (And I spend $5K-$10K/yr on personal development.)

If future me saw past me thinking “gee, that webinar is a little late, I don’t know if I can stay up”…future me would slap past me in the head.

    That’s my $0.02.

    1. Ravin Kumar says:

My problem is that I’m going to be on an international flight. I do hope this is held again

      1. Jay says:

While I normally agree with Ryan Holiday about not buying in-flight WiFi…in this case, I would suggest it.

  11. Santosh says:

This is going to be at 0130 am Monday for India time. That is close to impossible to attend.

can I attend recorded version of it ?

I have read the book and even used it as assignment in my class, it will be great to attend the course. Thanks.

  12. Kiran says:

I believe the start time is today at 3 pm central . However when i click on the link it says the meeting is expired instead of saying not yet started . I am confused

  13. Gladys says:

Will there be webinar notes posted up after the session?

  14. Nikita says:

It seems the webinar was cancelled?
“This webinar has expired” since 2:45 CT

  15. Jarrod says:

    Thanks!

  16. Matthew O'Brien says:

    Hi Cal!

I attended the webinar and wanted to thank you for answering my question there at the end about your 9 to 5 work schedule. I had another question, which is the one I really wanted to hear your thoughts on, about your advice for a college student on this topic and how one should constrain their productive time. I have this voice in my head that is telling me that I always have to be productive despite knowing that you do need time to relax and recharge. So what do you recommend, on a daily or weekly basis, for how much time should be spent on work demanded from classes and productive, career capital endeavors as opposed to how much should be left for recreation?

    Thanks a bunch!
